About Us

Learn More"We have just spent a night at Matuka Lodge, on the edge of Twizel, during our A2O cycle trip. We can highly recommend you visit this place, hosts Peter and Jo are the epitome of hospitable and enjoy a good laugh too! You have the main lodge at your disposal with very reasonably priced drinks, nibbles and a beautiful breakfast. (Food allergies addressed). The rooms have their own bathrooms, sumptuous robes and beautiful beds with excellent linen (love that!). Jo very kindly washed our cycling gear too - over and above expectations. The property has a pond with ducks and trout, and is set in a pretty garden. Do not be put off that it is just out of Twizel - Jo made us a dinner reservation in town, Peter dropped us off and picked us up! All amenities are on hand - from spa baths and hair driers, any TV/satellite channel you could wish for/am excellent range of drinks/local, sensible knowledge. We will be back!"
